Hand Bell Choir
Established in the fall of 1994, The JuBELLation Choir is an active and much celebrated community staple.
JuBELLation has enjoyed sharing our handbell music in many communities throughout Alberta and at a variety of events. Most years the Handbell Choir has performed in a number of senior residences, not only in Three Hills, but also has travelled to Drumheller, Olds, Didsbury, Innisfail, etc. and have been well received! Also, most notably, the Handbell Choir has participated in the yearly Community Christmas program in Three Hills. This is always a highlight as the Handbell Choir, JuBELLation, has been one of the core presenters.
In October, 2020 the choir was delighted to receive permission to resume rehearsals for praise and worship events. Admittedly, we have proceeded a stage at a time, following government regulations, and with the understanding that we observe social distancing, wear masks, etc.
The choir presented a 15 minute program on Christmas Eve at the local church, Prairie Tabernacle. We also presented a 25 minute program on Sunday morning, March 21. At the moment we are fitting in extra rehearsals to be well prepared for our final choral of the season on Sunday afternoon, May 16, also at Prairie Tabernacle. It will be an hour service presenting a Worship Service of Hymns!
Falling under both the pillars of the Arts Academy’s Mission Statement, the choir offers education and performance. We currently have a wonderful group of ringers, but anyone who has a basic understanding of music sightreading is encouraged to come out to see what handbells are about, and join the choir!
